Public pools incorporated UV lights in the sides of pools to control organisms. UV lights have been installed in dorms on campuses. What is it with UV lights everywhere? It has everything to do with what UV lights are capable of doing.
UV or UVC Lights Destroy Microbes
Public places have a way of generating a ton of germs and microbes. These organisms make people sick. To combat this but reduce the amount of harmful chemicals used, UVC light was developed and tested. It has been proven in labs to kill organisms that can cause illness. Hence, the rapid installment of this harmless low-level UVC light in many public venues to reduce the bacteria and viruses that can cause flu, COVID, colds, and more.
Some Allergens Are Destroyed Too
Certain organic and microscopic allergens are destroyed by UV light too. This means you can get relief from most things indoors that cause breathing problems and congestion. The lights can be installed inside vents or in places in your home where they aren’t as noticeable if you don’t want to draw attention to them.
The Plus of Installing UVC Light in Vents
If you opt to install the UVC lights inside your home’s vents, the air that circulates up or down through these vents is treated with the UVC light as the air passes by the lights. Before the air gets into the room, it has already been disinfected, allowing you to breathe freely. The lights do have to be checked at regular intervals to make sure the bulbs haven’t burnt out.
For that reason, you may decide to just install the UVC lights on a wall on, near, or around the vents rather than actually in them. One final installation option is through lamps in the ceiling such that air circulating upward is treated by the overhead lights in the room.
